About the game
Five regions, five bosses, one growing squad
Bridge Survival is a free cyber security runner game you play right here in your browser. You lead the Human Firewall, a squad of small hooded wizards, along the Firewall Road through five regions, from Phishing Harbour to the Breach Citadel. Your wizards cast spells by themselves, so your job is to steer: through the right gates, around the traps and into the crowds of scam villains charging down the bridge.
Safe habit gates add wizards and risky ones take them away, unless you cast at a risky habit until it flips to the safe one. Every region adds a new spell that stacks on the ones before, runs faster than the last and ends with a giant boss whose attacks are real scams. When it's your call, time stops: read the situation, choose the safest answer and stun the boss with a counter-spell.

How to play
Steer, choose, defend
- Press Play, then Start. A short briefing shows what you'll practise in Phishing Harbour and which villains you'll meet.
- Steer your squad. Drag anywhere, or hold the arrow keys or A and D. Your wizards cast spells by themselves, so line them up with the villains, and break the crystal around each spellbook for a new spell.
- Pick good habits and dodge the traps. Safe habit gates and the wizard-hat recruit gates add wizards; risky habits take them away until you cast at them to fix them. Spells break pop-up walls, but they can't stop a scam net, a phishing hook, a spam roller or a security hole: steer around those.
- Pause and check. Sixteen times a run, a decision gate or a boss asks for your call and time stops. There's no clock: read the situation, choose the safest answer, and a good call adds wizards or stuns the boss with a counter-spell.
- Beat the boss, then shop. Each sector ends with a giant boss: dodge its attacks, then spend your coins at the Wizard Academy before the next sector. Beat all five bosses, then claim your spot on the leaderboard.
How your score adds up
Your score is the points for every villain your spells banish, plus 25 for every risky habit you fix, 150 for every gate call and 200 for every boss call you get right first time (50 for a good start at a gate), 500 times the sector number for every boss you beat, and 10 for every wizard still with you when you clear a sector (up to 100 wizards), minus 200 for every Try again. A run that ends early, with End run or after your squad falls, keeps half its score.

Pro tip: Every Try again costs 200 points and End run halves your score, so protect your squad: fix risky habits early, save coins for a Shield charm, and step out of the Ransom Baron's locked lane, where your wizards can't cast. On a touch screen you can drag anywhere to steer, or switch to Tap lanes in Settings.

FAQ
Bridge Survival questions
Is Bridge Survival free to play?
Yes. It is completely free and runs in your web browser, with no download, account or sign-up. You only pick a gamer alias if you want to put a top score on the public leaderboard. Organisations that use CanIPhish can also assign it to employees as security awareness training, with a private company leaderboard.
What does Bridge Survival teach?
Everyday habits that stop scams, one family of scams per region: scam emails and texts (phishing), passwords and sign-in requests, scam calls and voices or faces copied by computer (deepfakes), harmful software (malware) and ransomware, and staying safe at the office and with AI tools. Habit gates on the road pair a risky habit with its safe twin, such as a reused password with unique passwords, and every spell your wizards learn stands for a real habit, from scam filters and multi-factor authentication to automatic updates and reporting scams. Sixteen times a run the game stops for a real-life call, from a text about a new bank payee to a USB stick found in the car park, and explains the safest answer.
How is my score calculated?
You score points for every villain your spells banish, every risky habit you fix, every call you get right first time and every boss you beat, plus a bonus for the wizards still with you when you clear a sector. Each Try again after your squad falls costs 200 points, and a run that ends early, with End run or after your squad falls, counts as a loss and keeps half its points. Your best score can go on the leaderboard, which lists the top 50 players of all time.
How long does a game of Bridge Survival take?
A full run of 5 sectors takes about 10 minutes, with a boss fight at the end of each sector and a visit to the Wizard Academy in between to spend your coins. The road gets faster from one sector to the next, but time stops whenever it's your call, so there is never a clock on a question, and you can pause at any time.
What devices and languages does it support?
It runs in any modern browser with WebGL graphics (hardware acceleration) turned on, on desktops, laptops, tablets and phones, held upright or sideways, although a larger screen is best. Steer with the mouse, the arrow keys or A and D, or drag on a touch screen. You can play in 72 languages: choose yours from the language picker on the title screen.
